The goal of the subject Diagnostic Imaging is to teach students the technical basics and to interpret the findings from the modalities common in veterinary practice. The main focus is put on radiographic and ultrasonographic examination of dogs, cats and horses. Advanced diagnostic imaging modalities (eg. computed tomography, magnetic resonance, scintigraphy) are only a marginal topic. The teaching material is composed of PowerPoint and PDF presentations made by lecturers, and various textbooks are available in the library. After completion of this subject, the students should be able to choose the right modality to confirm the basic pathologies. The training of ultrasonographic and radiographic examinations is part of the practicals.
